GENERAL MEETING

The supreme governing body of STBPT is General Meeting. The General Meeting, held not less than 1 time per year, is a collective decision-making event that brings together all Members of the STBPT and strategic Partners alongside the Advisory Board members. The General Meeting elects its Chairperson. Each authorized participant of the General Meeting has a single vote. The election of the Chairperson is done by a simple majority of votes.
The Chairperson of the General Meeting signs the employment contract with STBPT Executive Director.
Rights and responsibilities of the General Meeting
- Approve the Charter of the STBPT and amend it as appropriate;
- Select the Executive Director of the STBPT;
- Select the members of the Advisory Board;
- Form the governing bodies of the STBPT and their termination (including the election of the Advisory Board and its termination);
- Set and maintain the vision, goal and objectives of the STBPT;
- Define and prioritize the areas of activities of the STBPT;
- Define the order of acceptance and exclusion of members of STBPT;
- Oversee financial controls and ensure accountability: review and approve annual financial reports and financial statements of Management of the STBPT;
- Review the STBPT management report of program activities, presented by the Chairperson of the Advisory Board.
Decisions on issues stipulated in the above subparagraphs of Section II of this Framework belong to the exclusive competence of the General Meeting and cannot be transferred to other bodies of the STBPT.
Membership in General Meeting/STBPT
Membership is open and free for any interested individual public, scientific, governmental, municipal, commercial or any other organization that shares the vision, goal and objectives of the platform, commits to contribute to the best of its potential and resources, respects the core values of the STBPT, including mutual trust and respect, and appreciates the need to work jointly to end the TB epidemic in Tajikistan.
To become a member, interested individuals and/or organizations must express consent to the Management of the STBPT and provide the following information:
- Name, Surname;
- Organization if relevant;
- Postal and/or e-mail address;
- Areas of expertise;
- Areas of interest.
Organizations joining as members must provide the name and contact details of one person to act as their representative. It is the responsibility of organizational members to notify Management of the STBPT of any change in representative or contact details. Other individuals belonging to an organizational member are welcome to join but as individual members. Every five years, prior to elections of the Advisory Board and Executive Director, the STBPT Management will request that members reconfirm their interest to remain as members.
Rights and responsibilities of the members of General Meeting/STBPT
- The right to vote or to be a candidate in STBPT elections;
- Access to the STBPT listserv coalitionstbpt@googlegroups.com (which includes the latest updates on conferences, workshops, funding opportunities and important messages);
- Access to STBPT advocacy materials (including the newsletter, policy reports and brochures in print and online);
- Access to STBPT training materials and toolkits;
- Opportunity to provide input into consultations at the country, regional and international levels;
- Support from STBPT Management in national advocacy and administrative issues;
- Assisting STBPT Management in advocacy events;
- Disseminating information and raising awareness of STBPT activities whenever relevant;
- Participating in any other relevant STBPT activities.
Currently a total of 105 members constitute STBPT membership, including 6 co-founder NGOs, 31 TB Support Group members, 22 public figures and celebrities (the team “Our Champions: no TB”) and other 46 associated members.
