Field Visits to Strengthen TB Response at the Community Level

19-09-2025

Over the past two weeks, the Stop TB Partnership, Tajikistan team visited 11 districts as part of the Life-saving Facility and Community-Based Service Delivery Support project, aimed at fighting tuberculosis where it matters most, at the local communities.

The visits focused on strengthening collaboration with local National TB Program (NTP) teams, aligning project goals and boosting efforts in active case finding and treatment support. By working closely with district health authorities, the project aims to ensure TB services reach those who need them most.

A highlight of the visits was meeting with TB Support Group members, who are already making a difference by identifying TB cases early, supporting patients through treatment and ensuring no one is left behind. These community workers have been praised as “everyday heroes,” bringing hope and life-saving care to their communities.

“This project is about turning hope into action,” said the STBPT team. “By supporting community-based TB initiatives, we are one step closer to a future free from TB.”

Through these coordinated efforts, the STBPT team and local partners continue to empower communities, save lives and strengthen the fight against TB.
