The Stop TB Partnership, Tajikistan (STBPT) brings together actors from a variety of different sectors of society across the country on a common platform towards supporting and strengthening TB prevention, treatment and care efforts. Partners are comprised of (but not limited to) the private sector, civil society, but also of non-traditional actors such as VIP, celebrities, journalists, TB champions, etc. All partners contribute from their core competencies, and collectively catalyze an innovative approach towards ending TB in Tajikistan.
The Stop TB Partnership, Tajikistan was established on 30 July, 2014 by 76 people with tuberculosis (TB), people formerly with TB, their relatives and representatives of the organizations involved in the fight against TB, Mass Media from all areas of Tajikistan as a platform to contribute to preventing the spread of tuberculosis in the country as well as ensuring care and support to people, families and communities affected by TB. As of 10 April, 2018 the partnership has been registered at the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Tajikistan as Association “Stop TB Partnership, Tajikistan”.
Currently, the Stop TB Partnership, Tajikistan is functioning as a network to serve the following:
- Convene and represent civil society and communities.
- Conduct community-level monitoring of the TB response.
- Conduct advocacy.
- Support the implementation of community driven service delivery programs.
- Provide technical assistance to other public organizations.
- Be the technical focal point for CSS and community responses.
