High-Level Information and Advocacy Event

A high-level information and advocacy event titled “Introducing a Multisectoral Cooperation and Accountability Mechanism to End TB in the Republic of Tajikistan” was held in Dushanbe, reaffirming the country’s commitment to implementing the Multisectoral Accountability Framework to End TB (MAF-TB).

The event was organized by Stop TB Partnership, Tajikistan in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Secretariat of the National Coordination Committee on AIDS, TB and Malaria, the Republican Center for Protection of the Population from TB and the Association of Phthisiopulmonologists of Tajikistan, with support from UNITAID, the TB Europe Coalition (TBEC), and the World Health Organization (WHO).

Representatives from Parliament, government ministries, civil society, international partners, the private sector, and national TB Ambassadors gathered to discuss progress and strengthen accountability across sectors. Participants adopted a Resolution calling for enhanced cooperation and increased investment to accelerate progress toward a TB-free Tajikistan.

Tajikistan’s well-known artists and TB Ambassadors - Habib Hakimov, Noziya Karomatullo, Zainura Pulotova, Ruzibek Faizali, Muqimjon Abdufattoev and Nurullo Abdulloev inspired participants with messages of unity and commitment to ending TB. Artists from the Cultural Center of the Embassy of India also performed traditional tabla music and dance in solidarity with the global goal of ending tuberculosis.
