TB Case Detection Among Afghan Refugee and Migrant Community in Tajikistan

08-11-2024

Refugees and migrants are particularly vulnerable to tuberculosis (TB), and timely testing is crucial for preventing the disease and achieving the global goal of ending TB, both in Tajikistan and worldwide.

Innovative diagnostic methods, such as using a mobile X-ray device equipped with artificial intelligence (AI), significantly enhance the collaborative efforts of medical and social workers involved in the "Zero TB" project.

The effective use of these innovative detection and screening methods, which aim to test as many people as possible—including the relatives of TB patients—plays a vital role in achieving the objectives of the national TB program.

LET'S NOT FORGET!
Common Symptoms of TB:

  • Cough lasting more than 2 weeks
  • Evening fever and night sweats
